A. Knowledge is not like water, so I don't think a company can design or structure the "flow of knowledge." Knowledge is personal. Knowledge needs also are personal, specific and situational. Every employee needs different sorts of knowledge at different times. The best a company can do is train employees on how to retrieve the information they need from which resources centers, intranets or in-house experts. That's the only way to maximize the return on corporate knowledge.

What will be the result of knowledge rendered diagrammatically?
Q. Suppose a genius decides to restructure knowledge. Rather than linear narratives and walls of text, she wants communication in the form of nonlinear flow charts. She also wants scientific knowledge rewritten into a network graph, with each fact (e.g. the properties of a certain molecule) a modular node given one or more connections to other nodes, and with connections being categorized by type (terms used, occurrence of node topic elsewhere, similar nodes, etc.), all in a way understandable to anyone. Helped largely by this reorganization of knowledge, she wants true individualized education -- individual people each choosing what individual bits of knowledge to learn and putting them together in useful ways -- to become the global norm… [cont.]

Abstract Computer-aided design decision support has proved to be an elusive and intangible project for many researchers as they seek to encapsulate information and knowledge-based systems as useful multifunctional data structures. Definitions of knowledge', information', facts', and data' become semantic footballs in the struggle to identify what designers actually do, and what level of support would suit them best, and how that support might be offered. Q. A river flows toward the east. Because of your knowledge of physics, you head your boat 38 west of north and have a velocity of 8.0 m/s due north relative to the shore. (a) What is the velocity of the current? (b) What is your speed relative to the water?
Asked by Serena - Sat Oct 3 18:31:43 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You draw the diagram so that the velocity of the boat relative to the shore and the velocity of the current are perpendicular to each other, and the 38 degree angle is between the speed of the boat and the hypotenuse. tan 38 = water (x) / the boat relative to the shore = 6.25 m/s To find the speed relative to the water, you redraw the diagram so that the resultant is the hypotenuse, the current flows perpendicular to the speed of the boat relative to the shore. Take the square root of both sides squared. You get 10.15 m/s.

How does current flow through an electrolyte?
Q. The answer I have been given by others is that the anions and cations flow to their respective electrical terminal that is submerged in the aqueous solution. But if that is what truly happens, I would predict that the current through the solution would eventually stop once all the ions have traveled to their respective terminal. I know this does not happen, so I must have a knowledge gap in my understanding. Could someone please fill that gap for me? Thanks
Asked by Tom T - Fri Mar 20 09:37:47 2009 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments

A. The ions are replaced by ions generated from the water itself. For instance, if you are electrolyzing CuSO4, Cu will be deposited on the cathode while H2SO4 will be generated at the anode (along with oxygen as a byproduct). H2SO4 will dissociate into H+ and SO4-- ions, so the copper ions will be replaced by hydrogen ions. As the copper depletes the cathode will start to generate hydrogen gas instead.

Everyone's saying go with the flow and just move forward but how can I leave a life I've been living forever?
Q. Please, with knowledge and wisdom, answer the question I so dearly need an answer for. I've lived in a small suburb and went to school with the same people since kindergarten and had the same bestfriend and boyfriend since middle school. Now it's time for college and the best college to go to is Stanford but thats half way across the USA from where I live. My guy keeps telling me to stay and go to a community college and my BFF thinks I should go with her to some other college but thats still away from the people I care about. What should I do- opinions and answers please?
Asked by Change - Sun Jun 25 02:16:34 2006 - - 13 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you think you're emotionally capable, go to Stanford. Don't give up a big opportunity merely to remain in your comfortable little world. The experience will force you to grow and expand in ways you can't even imagine. Now, if you think you're simply not capable of handling going to Stanford, then don't. It would be worse to be traumatized by the experience. Whatever you do, don't give up a chance to go to Stanford in order to cling to your current life. That will doom you to a very small life and you'll always regret it.

A. There isn't one. For 'national security' reasons it's too secret to actually be written down so the entire thing resides in Karl Rove's head. However the latest installment, which has an energizingly desperate tone, has two parts: 1) Divide and Conquer: Accuse the Democrat party of having been hijacked by a bunch of rabid communists--like, for instance, the majority of Democrats in Conneticut. This is in opposition to earlier plays that cast all Democrats as rabid communists. These strident new-Old Democrats are rabid-er and more communisty than the old-New Democrats--and they aren't on the payroll, either. 2) As poll numbers for Republicans dwindle it's important to make progressively louder and more extreme accusations of Democrats.… [cont.]

A. Actually there are no real physical exercises, but mental ones. Reading gives more blood flow to the brain as does solving simple math problems quickly and puzzles like sudoku. elevating your legs above your head increases blood flow to your brain also. There are no food that can do this but eating fruits and vegetables gives your better cardiovascular health. good luck and always keep your brain healthy.

A. The first part of it sounded like a narcissistic personality disorder. The best way to describe this one is someone who lacks apathy for others. They take risks regardless of the consequences and often times appear to be arrogant and self centered. However, at the center of every Narcissistic is guilt. However the says what others want to hear does not describe this,(However they do feel a need for approval and acceptance, so I suppose it can, if that is what you met by that statement) all the other traits do however.

Do I have the right idea? or is a reflection supposed to focus on something else?
Asked by ... - Wed Sep 20 19:10:25 2006 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I think you're on the right track. Since 2 pages is pretty long, I'd advise starting with a short (3-4 sentences) summary of the activity is. Follow that up with what it simulated, how it relates to the real world, how it relates to what else you've been learning in class. Also include any important vocab words that you understand better due to the activity (capitalism, etc). This should be the bulk of the paper. At the conclusion, I would suggest making a more personal connection. How did this activity affect you and your understanding/opinion of the world around you? How have you matured due to this activity? What will you take from it? Good luck!
