Q. I want to go back to school to finish my degree and University of Phoenix has a program I'm interested in and their program can be complete online, which works well with my work schedule. I'm just curious as to other people's experience with the school. Can you specify what industry you're pursuing? I'm looking to complete an AA in Information Technology and then a Bachelors of Science in Information Technology/Software Engineering. Asked by Jay - Tue Aug 8 18:45:40 2006 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments A. I am currently attending Axia of UOP and I am very pleased with the way the classes are formed and handled. Class sizes can are typically small and you can get lots of help when needed. My couselors, (Academic and Finance) contact me quite often to make sure things are going well. Should I have any questions the instructors are always prompt to respond and almost all even given you their personal number so that you can call them should time for email or posting your news group not permit. Like anything in life, it's what you make of it. I will be very honest and say that it takes a lot of time and interaction to be successful in this class. Lacking the classroom setting can be difficult for people who are a visual learner. You must… [cont.] Answered by Loquat - Thu Aug 10 21:04:21 2006 Degree from Axia College or University of Phoenix? Q. Has anyone received one then have trouble finding a job? I'm enrolled in it now, but I might transfer because I don't want to be looked down upon from companies. Keep in mind that the school is designed for working adults with an education model geared to working adults. They teach application over theory. You are not buying a degree. What you are doing is taking concepts and relating them to real world scenarios. It seems that the degree may be 'bought' because there are no test involved. What is actually being taught are the skills necessary to be productive in the workforce and advance your career. Companies are addressing skills gaps within their workforce. Companies are trying to do more with less. How do they do this? They need individuals trained to have better… [cont.] Answered by Tracy V - Tue Dec 2 10:33:18 2008 Do Axia College (a branch off of Pheonix University) makes you pay for your own books?
Q. By reading the guidelines about the school it only pays for tuition but the student has to pay for the the books. But one of the counselors I talked to said finacial aid should cover everything that's if I don't get enough money to pay for my books. Asked by cmsimmons1982 - Fri Mar 24 13:53:21 2006 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. Very, very few colleges or universities include the costs of textbooks in their tuition. Your bill that you will get from the college includes the tuition cost (pay the professor, operating costs, etc.), room and board (the minimum double oocupancy 20x20 room and a meal plan consisting of 100% fat and starch in a barely edible form) and miscellaneous charges for activities fees and such. Books are almost always extra, as each professor chooses what texts he wants to use. Of course they will pick the most expensive books. That is why they are mentioning financial aid. You can get any number of grants or loans to cover these costs. That is, if you qualify for financial aid. You literally have to be from a family that is barely above poverty… [cont.] Answered by rmonigle - Fri Mar 24 14:02:39 2006 From Yahoo Answer Search: "axia college" |
