What business classes do you generally take the 3rd and 4th year of your BA?
Q. Im currently going to a 2 year school, getting my Business associates degree with a transfer option, and plan on going to a 4 year school to get my BA, and eventually my MBA. Im taking basic economics, accounting, and business managment classes right now, along with other core english and math classes, but what should i expect on my 3rd and 4th year? What types of classes? I know business classes obviously, but what specifically?
Asked by Mike - Tue Aug 26 22:04:19 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Business programs will have you take classes in all functional areas, including marketing, finance, HR, IT, etc. Additionally most school's will have you take some sort of strategic management course as your capstone class. Those are just the general business requirements. You will then take in-depth coursework within your concentration area. For example, if you are an accounting emphasis business major, you will take anywhere from 6-8 upper division accounting classes. Finally, there may be elective business coursework you are also required to do such as in international business, entrepreneurship, or such. You're also strongly advised to do an internship (credit awarded) in your area so you can build real experience.

What classes do you recommend taking while pursuing an Associates in Business?
Q. My husband is in college pursuing his associates degree in business. There are many different business classes to choose from to get his credits. If you are currently pursuing business or have in the past, what classes did you find the most beneficial to take? So far, his related courses he has taken are Intro to Business (he enjoyed and passed with an A) and Principles of Management (which he is currently taking and HATES). His other course credits have come from other required courses (English, Algebra, etc.) What class did you really enjoy, find interesting, and "got the most from"?

A. You'd start out at a 4-year college or university, major in anything, and take the premed classes in bio, chem, physics, math, and English. You can do this at just about any 4-year school. Then you'd have another 4 years of medical school, followed by 3+ years of residency in pediatrics.

What are some other good classes to take for an electrical engineer?
Q. I have one last semester of electrical engineering to finish this coming fall. I only need two engineering classes to finish my major, but need at least two other classes in order to stay at full time status. My question to you is what are some beneficial classes I could take? I was considering some management or business classes, but the disadvantage is they will be basic introductory classes, since the higher level ones require prerequisites. I plan on talking with some engineers or talking with professors, but I would like some input from you as well. Thanks in advance for answering.
Asked by pstof - Mon Apr 5 23:28:36 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I'd take business (basic at least) and also Project management - as an Electrical engineer, I'm expected to watch over the installing contractor, keep the Project on schedule, and under budget as well as all of the design/engineering. If you have those skills, you'll have a much better chance of getting a plum job when you get out of school - it's gettinmg more and more important.

A. In most states, you can also teach K with an elem ed degree (just in case you want the option of teacher slightly older students later). First, look on your state's Dept of Ed website for a list of approved teacher preparation programs. Most states list them. Then, find the websites of the universities listed that you are interested in. Most universities list the course requirements for a degree in each major. You'll know the Dept of Ed approved the program if it is listed on their website. The reason you haven't been able to find an exact list is that there is usually not one that's required for everyone. There are certain types of courses all teachers must take, but universities vary slightly in some of the other requirements for their… [cont.]

What are different college classes that you can take in Science?
Q. I know that college classes are different that just the basic ones that you take in high school. In college what would "science" be called? What are some science classes that focus on mainly different sicknesses and diseases? Like how they spread and stuff. Also what is a science class you can take on the environment? If you don't really know that's fine just tell me science classes that sound really impressive. Also if you have a master degree in science, what is that called? Because you wouldn't say that you have a masters degree in science would you?
Asked by Emily - Wed Apr 1 18:11:35 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Basically, physical and biological sciences are the two main categories. However, they subdivide and merge into many different areas. The most popular biological major is biology. Biology is a generalist approach to biological science education. You take fundamental courses that educate you on all biological science topics. Under physical science, the most popular are chemistry and physics. But like I said, there's many other subject areas too numerous to mention. Environment is ecology, which falls under biological science.

What college classes would i have to take to major in architecture?
Q. What college classes would i have to take to major in architecture? I know that math and physic are important, but is there anything else? (I am fluent in seven languages including french, Japanese, Russian, and English.) Can I take these classes online? I have my reasons that I do not want to take on campus classes. Any and every bit of information will help me. Thank you for you time and answers.
Asked by Danni Maddux - Fri Jun 19 03:09:37 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You actually need to be attending a school that offers an architecture program...and even so Architecture is a Masters level program if you truly want to be an architect. You can take some pre arch classes as an undergrad...but it is typically a post graduate level degree taking about 3 years. like i said your school has to have an architecture program...and if the school has one they will tell what classes you need to take. Oh...and its going to be impossible to become an architect doing online classes.

What classes in high school should i take in order to be a pastry chef?
Q. Im in high school and my school doesn't have any cooking classes. I have no idea what to take in order to become a chef besides business classes.
Asked by zarae0210 - Mon Nov 24 18:13:51 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Don't worry about it, most colleges don't expect all schools to have cooking programs, keep following business classes and languages (Spanish would be best, unless you plan to work as a French Pastry chef, or study there). Other then that look for enrichment or internship programs in the summers, and you it would be best if you can find work at a bakery or restaurant, some schools require experience.

What classes does a beginner need to take to learn graphic design?
Q. What classes are best if you are just beginning graphic design classes? Photoshop, INdesign, Illustrator? Should more focus be on Adobe Photoshop or should a bit of all be taken?
Asked by SelfGirl35 - Mon Apr 13 13:31:37 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you're going to college for graphic design I wouldn't worry about it because each college has specific classes you HAVE to take in order to earn the degree, and there will be software classes in there at some point. In general, you want to get some experience in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. If you're thinking you're gonna want to go into print design, than focus more on InDesign and Photoshop. If web and multimedia is more your thing than concentrate on Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Flash. Most employers will want you to at least be competent in those first three though.

What classes should one take in High School if they wish to pursue a career in voice acting?
Q. I apparently need to change my schedule for this coming year, so I might as well try to fit in career-based classes into it, but what are such classes?
Asked by .:;sweet mass insanity;:. - Wed Aug 12 19:48:43 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You should get a drama or theater class, even though you aren't pursing a career in theater, voice acting is still acting. This class will help you expand the range of character voices that you can do and it would be a good addition under training for your resume. You can take a public speech class also if your school offers it. It will give you a boost of confidence to help you speak in front of others.

If they have been slacking off, like me, then they would have to take a lot of classes from previous years to make up for all of the credits they missed. A student who is on track to graduating on time usually has: Communication Arts 12 (general English) (1 semester) Communication Arts Elective (can be calligraphy, creative writing, business writing, etc) (1 semester) Some kind of math (year-long) American Government (1 semester) Contemporary World Issues (1 semester) Some kind of science (year-long) Elective classes (Can be 4 different semester-long classes, 2 year-long classes, or 1 year-long class and 2 semester-long classes). A. I would recommend if you take BIOLOGY, chemistry and advancement placement chemistry. The nice thing about taking chemistry early is that it will give you the opportunity to take ap chemistry in high school. Our oldest son took both ap calculus and ap chemistry in his senior year and though he did pass & get the CALULUS credit, I wish he had applied himself more in adv placement chemistry bec the teacher who also taught at the local university did tell parents that many of his students came back and thanked him bec organic chemistry in college if you are interested in PRE-MEDICINE, DENTAL, pharmacy and even NURSING is a make or break undergraduate college course. Hope the Above Helps and Best of Luck!
