A. unless u have insurance u will have 2 buy a new phone. but if you do you have to pay a $50 deductible and it will take 3-4 days for them to send the phone to you. This is done buy the insurance people not sprint. Also they will ask you if you want to pay $15 extra for it to get 2 you in 2 days don't do it mine came in 3 and there was a holiday in between. But there is no refund once u purchase the replacement even if you find the old one

How does the phone companies know you are using a Motorola Red phone?
Q. Phone companies in the UK promise to donate 5% of your monthly bill for calls made from a Motorola Red phone, using any SIM card. How do phone companies know you are using this phone?
Asked by theoracle - Mon Jun 12 17:21:23 2006 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. They can tell the IMEI number of any phone you use with your SIM Card. The first 6 digits tell them the model number and the rest identify the specific phone you are using. This makes it fairly simple for them to create a list of calls made from a specific type of phone. This may seem like a waste of their resources to track the type of phone used for each call, but it is very useful in tracking the life of phones. This information can then be used in making decisions about upgrade programs, warranties, and marketing new models.

What style cell phone is good for an older person?
Q. I got my mom a cell phone about 2 years ago to bring her up to the technology world and finally have a cell phone. I didnt realize when I got her the phone that the numbers are really hard to see and the key pad is really small for her. I have her set up with Alltel and I know she is due for a new phone soon. Can anyone tell me what kind of phone has bigger numbers and a bigger screen to see who is calling?
Asked by vtrip - Thu Jun 11 17:38:31 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Hi, I looked on the Alltel's website and there isn't that many phones that have big keypad. And the touchscreen phones most are too high tech for older person. from all their phones I think Motorola Krave ZN4 is the better choice. because it's not too high tech, and it has a good size touchscreen keypad, with this type of keypad is a lot easier to see the numbers, because they are big and bright. and they have a clear screen cover build-in. hopefully that help's a bit. P.S. F.Y.I. Alltel is now a part of Verizon Wireless

Q. I don't like any phones that Verizon is selling because of the Data Plans, I like the phones T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T sell, but I want it one the Verizon Service. What do I need to do to do this? Also, what phone should I get? I want a QWERTY phone, with a 2+ Megapixel camera, any suggestions?

A. None. Verizon will only activate Verizon-branded phones on its network. If you want Verizon service, you're stuck with a Verizon phone.

What causes a cell phone to not receive a call from a land line phone?
Q. My Girlfriend loves to call me from her house phone, but for some reason my phone only recieves half of her calls. The half I do not get rings for her but my phone doesn't get any missed call messages. Any way to fix this? I have the Motorola DRIOD and cannot figure out why my phone isn't picking up her calls.
Asked by Vinnie - Mon Jul 5 19:01:57 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Do you report the problem to her land line Telco and your Cell Phone provider? There are a number of problems that could cause this to happen but if they are not reported to the providers then they will not be fixed. One way to report the problem is to call the Operator from the land line and tell the Operator that your calls do not connect and ask the Operator to complete the call for her. Is it only from your Girlfriend or do other land line people report the problem? You do have to remember that she may receive ringing in her ear before your cell phone rings. That is because the gateway for your cell service may indicate that you are available and then there may not be available bandwidth to connect to you so you will not get a… [cont.]

How do I activate a new phone on my current cell contract?
Q. I am looking at upgrading the cell phone to a Blackberry. If I purchase the phone somewhere else besides my cell phone carrier store, how do I add the phone to the plan? I would like to stop using my old phone and use the new Blackberry instead and simply use the same phone number. How do I change phones?
Asked by eziegelbein - Thu Mar 15 21:49:04 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You should just be able to take the phone to the carrier and have them activate it for you. But their could be some issues with software. Because your carrier may sell their Blackberry's with their software.

How do you trade in your mobile phone to get a new different phone?
Q. I have a Nextel i870 which cost $300.00 but now I want another Nextel phone which also cost $300.00. My current Nextel is sctratched up a little and has moments when it doesn't act right but for the most part it's still a good phone. I want to trade in my current phone to get the new phone but I'm not sure on how you trade it in or if it's possible to do that. I heard from somewhere that you can trade your old fone in to get a new different phone and just pay the rest. Like if you had a phone that cost $250 and you now want a phone that cost $300, all you have to do is pay the $50 difference. Is that true?Does any one know if you can/can't and if you can, what do you have to do?
Asked by TS - Thu Jul 12 14:23:02 2007 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments

A. The only way to get a new phone would be to either purchase it outright or upgrade. Even then, there is no program where you "pay the difference." You just have to pay the cost of the new phone when you upgrade and sign a new contract. The usual contract time is 2 years. If you are unsure, it is probably 2! You would keep your old phone...which is a good thing, that way incase something happens to your old phone, you would have a back up so you wouldn't be stranded!

What kind of cell phone offers the ability to just buy phone cards each month?
Q. I need the cheapest cell phone possible. Both my home phone and cell phone aren't working and I need something that doesn't include a plan or long sign up process. I've heard that there's cheap cell phones you can buy, or even use your own, then just buy minutes as you use them each month. Where can I find something like this and what is it exactly?

How can I plug a regular phone into my cell phone?
Q. I'm in love with the idea of those Hulger handsets--they look like cool retro phones and plug straight into your cell phone. I have a Blackberry Pearl and it has a mini-USB jack. Is there any sort of mini-USB to phone jack converter that I could use so I can use the phones I have in my house? This would be so nice since it would be more comfortable and would reduce my exposure to cell phone radiation. I guess I'll get a Novophone. Much less expensive than a Hulger.

What is the best way to phone a spanish mobile phone from the UK?
Q. I need to start phoning a Spanish mobile phone, from a UK land line, and I don't want to be charged loads for it. I would like to avoid calling cards at all possible, but don't mind opening up a VOIP account. I already have free calls to Spanish land lines, but this is now no good as I will have to phone a mobile phone. Please help!

A. If by Spanish u mean Spain, then skype.com charges 0.253 to mobiles and it was the cheapest i could find. If this is some form of personal relationship then the best option would be skype-to-skype, which is free.

What is the difference between a smart phone and a regular phone?
Q. I am shopping for a phone and I am noticing that many "cool" phones (phones with touch screens, full keyboard, etc) say that they are smartphones. I am wondering what the difference between a smart phone and a regular phone. Thx!
Asked by smileyskull - Mon Jan 5 15:29:23 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. A smart phone is usually a PDA phone that has many functions such as a Blackberry, Iphone, Instinct and others. Some have windows mobile and others have there own proprietary OS. Regular phones do internet and stuff but smart phones do it better and you can add applications to smart phones where it is harder to do to a regular phone.
