Does anyone know how long it takes to recieve excess funds through mail from University of Phoenix?
Q. My account has this: REXCFA:5188440 refundexcess f/A debit memo 12-OCT-09 1,808.75. I want to know if I should get this whole amount and when should I get it through the mail? Thanks

A. It is saying that yesterday they sent out $1,808.75 to you (not really sent it out but printed it really). From past experience it usually took about 1 week from the day that was posted until I got the check. So you will probably get it around Monday.

Will I recieve my pell grant?
Q. I have been attending University of Phoenix since April 2009. I received the first half of my pell grant in May. I have read many places stating that they have to send me the excess funds, but they already have my next two classes which are a completely new academic year on my invoice. Now can they use the other half of my pell grant I am to recieve this month sometime for it or do they have to disburse it to me?

If you took 24 credit hours, your class fees would have been beyond the maximum Pell award (especially since you did not attend a full academic year in fafsa eyes). The University of Phoenix website is telling me that a credit hour is $380, which means that 24 credit hours would equal $9,120. The maximum Pell you are allowed for an academic year is $5,350. Have you taken out student loans to cover the difference? Any refund to the Pell must be used within that academic year and must be sent to you (if you check your student handbook they should give the… [cont.]
